We are SPJIMR, a leading school of management in the heart of India’s financial center of Mumbai. We were inaugurated in 1981 by the then British Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Margaret Thatcher, and have grown over the years to be recognized as one of the top 10 business schools of India.

Approvals and Accreditations

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
The AICTE has approved our two-year, full time, residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), the 15-month full time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) and full-time doctoral programme, Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM).

National Board of Accreditation (NBA)
The NBA has accredited our PGDM programme for five years with effect from July 01, 2016.

The Association of MBAs (AMBA), U.K
AMBA, the UK-based global accreditation agency has accorded accreditation to our two-year, full time, residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM); 15-month full-time post graduate programme (PGPM); 18-month modular Post Graduate Executive Management Programme (PGEMP); and the 18-month modular Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business (PGPFMB).

International Faculty:
Faculty from business schools across the world visit SPJIMR on a regular basis to take full courses or modules within the courses. The practice helps students gain a global exposure to management and learn with schools and practices globally.

Students from various international universities visit SPJIMR to take up courses with our students. The exchange visits range from a week to a semester.

The diversity in a classroom adds to the peer learning experience and class interactions, besides giving students a cross-cultural perspective.

Specialised courses at Internaional Partner Schools:
The Global Fast Track (GFT), enables PGDM students to travel to a globally top-ranked B-School, in order to gain cutting-edge inputs in their area of specialisation. The GFT is an intense, three-week course towards the end of the third semester. This enables the students to contribute during their internship and to make an impact.

There is also an opportunity for students to pursue specialised courses in leading foreign B-schools for a full semester (as exchange students).

SPJIMR has developed deep relationships with top international B-Schools where students have undertaken advanced courses. The partner B-schools include (but are not restricted to): Michigan State University (Eli Broad College of Business), Cornell University (Johnson School of Management), Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper School of Business) and schools in Europe and Asia. The list of schools may change from year to year.

A larger purpose

Managers today are being called upon to make decisions that balance not only shareholders' interest but also the interests of the community and employees. To prepare managers for such decision-making, the PGDM curriculum includes ideas drawn from Eastern wisdom as well as Western efficiency.

The programme nurtures a sense of Social Responsibility and Sensitivity amongst its students by:

Exposing students to life and circumstances across socio-economic strata of society
Building an appreciation of rural poverty and leading inquiries into deprivation
Encouraging students to inquire into the larger role and purpose of business

Specifically our five-course programme of Value Based Leadership is designed to nurture socially sensitive, value driven leaders. These courses are referred to as the Non- Classroom Learning (NCL) courses

Infrastructure

The campus is located opposite the famous Andheri Sports Complex and is in close proximity to restaurants, shopping malls, entertainment and recreation areas, hospitals and medical centres. The area is well connected with main express highways, easily accessible and close to the rail hub of Andheri.

The campus is equipped with all the modern amenities characteristic of a world-class educational establishment. With a variety of pedagogic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and resources available on the campus, it encourages a highly enhanced learning experience.

The campus though modest and humble, comprises of several renovated buildings with excellent residential facilities, cafeterias, classrooms and learning centres including a library, IT Centre, Amphitheatre and an Executive Training Centre with state-of-the art audio and video equipment and 24x7 wireless connection.

The classrooms are both stepped and leveled to facilitate discussions, and customised to the needs and requirements of various programmes. The sports and entertainment facilities include an Open Air Theatre, playing fields and jogging tracks. The campus also boasts of a lake, Cultural Center, Botanical Garden, YogKutir and Institute of Holistic Health Sciences.

The Hostel

SPJIMR is equipped with residential facilities that strengthen the feeling of belonging and provide students the necessary impetus to a more cohesive learning environment. Besides easy access to library and computer facilities, the recently upgraded hostel facilities include amenities like television, table-tennis tables, water filters and coolers, washing machines and a canteen for snacks.

All rooms are networked and students are connected through a 24-hour Internet facility, SPINX, the Institute Intranet and messaging applications. The SPJIMR students find themselves a part of a bustling, vibrant and virtual community that extends participatory and interactive learning beyond the classroom. Besides encouraging a better peer group interaction for group study and non-classroom activities, it also promotes an informal atmosphere for student-faculty interaction.

The Library

The library with its vast collection of management literature and electronic resources is a key resource of the Institute. It has a collection of over 23,500 books including the most recent publications in a variety of areas covering, but not limited to, Business, Economics and Management. The SPJIMR library subscribes to a number of periodicals which include scholarly international as well as national journals and business magazines. It has an enriched digital collection of over 8,000 CD-ROMs and DVDs which include audio/video material on the core subjects. The library also maintains an archive of various in-house events, lectures and programmes. It also subscribes to a host of electronic resources through which scholarly & industry relevant information can be accessed.
