Mumbai is a thriving metropolis and also India's financial capital. Home to the most Global Fortune 500 company headquarters and biggest stock exchanges in India, Mumbai offers maximum exposure to economic and commercial activity.

Purpose: Amongst India’s leading MBA programmes, SPJIMR’s PGDM devotes the highest number of credits and time to sensitizing its students to management’s larger purpose in society.

Flexibility: The programme offers students the ability to choose a minor specialisation and flexibility to change their main or “major” specialisation.

Specialised courses at Internaional Partner Schools:
The Global Fast Track (GFT), enables PGDM students to travel to a globally top-ranked B-School, in order to gain cutting-edge inputs in their area of specialisation. The GFT is an intense, three-week course towards the end of the third semester. This enables the students to contribute during their internship and to make an impact.

There is also an opportunity for students to pursue specialised courses in leading foreign B-schools for a full semester (as exchange students).

SPJIMR has developed deep relationships with top international B-Schools where students have undertaken advanced courses. The partner B-schools include (but are not restricted to): Michigan State University (Eli Broad College of Business), Cornell University (Johnson School of Management), Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper School of Business) and schools in Europe and Asia. The list of schools may change from year to year.

A larger purpose

Managers today are being called upon to make decisions that balance not only shareholders' interest but also the interests of the community and employees. To prepare managers for such decision-making, the PGDM curriculum includes ideas drawn from Eastern wisdom as well as Western efficiency.

The programme nurtures a sense of Social Responsibility and Sensitivity amongst its students by:

  • Exposing students to life and circumstances across socio-economic strata of society
  • Building an appreciation of rural poverty and leading inquiries into deprivation
  • Encouraging students to inquire into the larger role and purpose of business

Specifically our five-course programme of Value Based Leadership is designed to nurture socially sensitive, value driven leaders. These courses are referred to as the Non- Classroom Learning (NCL) courses
