The two-year full-time PGDM is the Institute’s flagship programme. The PGDM is accorded NBA accreditation and equivalence with Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree of an Indian University.
The curriculum, comprising six terms, constitutes a judicious mix of core and elective courses. In the first year, students participate in the unique Give Goa project that helps them to become more socially aware and responsible towards the broader good of society. At the end of the first year, students pursue the Summer Internship.
Project (SIP) in industry spread over 8 to 10 weeks.
GIM’s Student Exchange Programme provides selected students the rare opportunity to pursue academic internship with global partner institutions. Through the Student Exchange Programme selected students can also study abroad for one term. The Universities participating in exchange programme are:

The HCM programme has been carefully structured after considering industry needs, existing gaps and future requirements of Healthcare industry.
Entire programme is divided in 6 terms (3 in first year and 3 in second year). Each term is of approximately 3 months' duration. Courses are conducted in each of these terms. These courses are divided into core courses and elective courses.
The HCM programme is an integrated programme of all domains that forms the part of healthcare sector.
Hospitals, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Healthcare Financing, Public Health and Healthcare IT & Consulting.
Students are offered a bucket of elective courses along with core courses. Students chose elective courses to develop themselves in the area of their interests. This enables students to differentiate and make themselves more suitable for seeking career opportunities in any particular domain of healthcare.
Know Your Healthcare Providers (KYHP). This course provides extensive exposure to the functioning of the healthcare industry through a first-hand experience of working closely with hospitals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, public health organizations and other healthcare institutions.
The main objective of the programme is to create future-ready, data-fluent managers, who shall be fully equipped to manage the new paradigm of data-driven decision making.
Students will have exposure to statistical theory, data management including big data, and business intelligence systems including machine learning, artificial intelligence and deep learning and related tools, techniques and algorithms. The major emphasis will be on providing hands-on training to the students using all major software tools in vogue and working on actual industry projects. The state-of-the-art Data Science Laboratory with cloud service which will enable the students.
In the summer, after the first year, students are required to spend eight to ten weeks in an organization doing a project on a significant aspect or problem related to BDA. The aim of the summer project is to provide students an opportunity to observe closely how BDA is being used in organizations and to relate what they have learnt in GIM to actual practice.
In the in- company projects the students shall be placed in companies to do actual analytics project. The GIM has tied up with some companies and expect to add more to its pool. These companies have adopted Analytics in some parts of their businesses and would accept students to do a project for them. The project has substantial weightage as indicated in the course structure.
For need of growing financial sector, we will offer PGDM (BFSI) for 2020-22 batch, in addition to three existing programmes. PGDM (BFSI) the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance program at Goa Institute of Management is a dynamic industry-driven program, designed with continual engagement with industry partners for delivery of applied content, a comprehensive 18-week internship, and a placement.
The focused approach in the course design maps industry requirements and includes Digital Banking, Fintech (BlockChain, Payment Technology, Wealthtech, Insurtech and Regtech) and Artificial Intelligence for Banking, apart from fundamental courses related to financial services industry, distinctly differentiating it from other contemporary curriculum in this space. PGDM(BFSI) will have significantly deeper coverage of financial sector and technology dimensions, as compared to a regular PGDM programme.
Capital Market Gaming Applications are expected to augment the theoretical knowledge of market operations, along with case-based teaching and practical and application-oriented learning.
The campus has modern sports facilities including a swimming pool, two lawn-tennis courts, a football field, basket-ball and volley-ball courts, and a well-equipped gymnasium. Other facilities such as laundry, TV, a music room, a meditation room, indoor sports and a doctor on campus contribute to an excellent student life on campus.
The library is equipped with over 24800 management and related books, and subscribes to over 50,000 online journals and 103 hard copy management journals from India and abroad. Students have access to the finest selection of contemporary books, journals and other resource materials including management videos. RFID technology facilitates 24 hour access to the library. The library is open 24 x 7 and books can be self-issued on RFID card without recourse to a librarian.
The Institute subscribes to a variety of online databases including CMIE’s Prowess IQ, PROQUEST, EBSCO, JSTOR DELNET, EPWRF (India Time Series), Science Direct and India Business Insight (IBI). The Finance Laboratory has access to the Thomson Reuters database which is used for various Finance Courses as well as for Market Research activities. At other times, it is available to all students and faculty who wish to access data on any national and international corporate body. We also subscribe to www.indiastat.com, which provides latest socio-economic statistical information about India.
The lab is equipped with complete SAS suite of software along with all open source software like, R, R Studio, Python 3.7, Hadoop, Cloudera, CDH 5.x, Tableu, Power BI, etc. Oracle VM Virtual Box. Each system is secured with licensed commercial security software: EsetEndPoint Security. BDA lab is also equipped with two projectors mounted on the left and right (8:1 column view) connected to the central system which is used by the faculty for demonstration purpose. BDA lab is fully air conditioned to provide an ambience where students and faculties work on their experiments and carry out research in data analytics.
Finance Lab integrates theory with real world practice. It is a connect through live channels and terminals between what students learn in class room and what inindustry happens in concrete terms. Research databases and real-time access to global financial resources will enable students to link classroom education to actual financial markets.
The Lab at GIM aims to support advanced applied research in financial markets and build skills of budding finance managers in the mathematical and conceptual theories and best practices in financial markets that go into the creation and management of innovative financial products. Apart from this, the lab also assists in market research; the industry level data provides information about major players, market share of each company, product offering etc.

WHO IS AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
- The student must be a foreign national or NRI.
- Foreign national is defined as someone who has a passport issued by a country other than India.
